How to Check Your PESCO Bill Online (2026 Step-by-Step Guide)

Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) bills are not on a PESCO website of their own. They live on the shared PITC portal that serves every distribution company in Pakistan, so checking yours comes down to one thing: having your reference number ready. With that in hand, the whole process takes about a minute from any phone or computer, with nothing to install and no account to create.

The one thing you need first

You only need the 14-digit reference number from the top of the bill, the long all-digit field near your name usually marked "Reference No". It does not change from month to month, so any previous PESCO bill for the same meter has it. There is no password and no CNIC step. On a new connection that has never been billed, the number is on the demand notice you received when the meter was set up. Our reference number guide covers it in full.

Checking your PESCO bill on the PITC portal, step by step

  1. Open bill.pitc.com.pk/pescobill.
  2. Enter your 14-digit reference number, digits only, without spaces or dashes.
  3. Submit the form.
  4. Your current bill loads as a PDF, with the payable amount, the units consumed, the due date and the two payable figures.
  5. Download or print it to keep a copy or to pay over the counter.

Can you check a PESCO bill by CNIC?

This is one of the most searched questions, and the honest answer is no. The PITC portal has no CNIC or name search; it looks up bills only by the 14-digit reference number. Your CNIC is recorded against the account when you apply for or transfer a connection, but it is not a way to retrieve a bill online. If you do not have the reference number to hand, the workable routes are an older bill for the same meter, the demand notice from when the connection was installed, or a visit to your PESCO sub-divisional office with your CNIC and meter number.

What the online bill shows you

Once it loads, the PDF is the full bill, not a summary. You get the billing month, the units consumed, the due date, the amount payable within and after that date, any arrears carried forward, and the tax and adjustment lines. It is the same document you would receive on paper, so you can pay from it or keep it for your records.

What this site does, honestly

We do not fetch or store your PESCO bill here, because your billing record belongs behind the official portal, not on someone else's server. Our bill checker does two useful things instead: it confirms your reference number is exactly 14 digits so a typo does not send you to a blank result, and then it links you straight to bill.pitc.com.pk/pescobill. It also has a slab-by-slab estimator to help you understand the amount once you see it.

If your PESCO bill does not appear

  • Recount the digits. The reference number is exactly 14 digits; a shorter code is the customer ID or meter number.
  • Look for a new number. If the connection was recently updated, PESCO may have issued a new reference number and retired the old one.
  • Give it time. A newly issued month can take a little while to appear.
  • Retry later. The portal is sometimes under maintenance.

Once the bill opens, the tariff slab guide explains the rates behind the total, and if you also need to know whether you are on the lower rates, see protected consumer status.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account or app to check my PESCO bill?

No. The PITC portal displays any PESCO bill from just the 14-digit reference number, with no sign-up, password or app. Viewing and downloading the bill is free.

Can I check my PESCO bill with my CNIC?

Not on the official portal. It only searches by the 14-digit reference number. CNIC is used when you apply for a new connection, not to view a bill. If you have lost the number, take it from an older bill, the demand notice, or your PESCO sub-divisional office.

Which cities and districts does PESCO cover?

PESCO supplies most of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Kohat, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan. The same online method works everywhere in its territory.

Why does the portal still show last month's bill?

The portal displays the most recent bill PESCO has generated. If the new month has not been issued yet, the previous bill stays until the billing cycle runs and the new one is uploaded.
